This 2004 set represents the annual release by the Royal Australian Mint of proof versions of Australia's circulating coins. It is the first time since 1990 that the original designs have been used on each of the coins.
The highlight of the set is the $1 coin with Stuart Devlin's familiar five kangaroos design featured in holographic format. The hologram was restricted to the proof versions only.
