What began as a single store operation in Western Australia in 1984, is today a dynamic international franchise group with over 450 stores throughout the world.

The innovative approach to franchising pioneered by Cash Converters has enabled franchisees around the world to enjoy the rewards and satisfaction of running their own thriving business.

What's involved in operating a Cash Converters store?

The core business involves the buying and selling of second-hand goods over the counter for cash. Our franchisees buy stock from customers daily, offer a unique mix of widely appealing products at all times and enjoy a high degree of flexibility in pricing, allowing them to respond to local market needs.

The goods are displayed for sale in a modern well-lit and attractively merchandised retail outlet. This same model is applied throughout the franchised chain and effectively provides customers with an easy 'shopfront' alternative to classified newspaper advertisements, old-fashioned pawnbrokers, and flea-market jumble sales.

All Cash Converters stores are visually identical in terms of presentation and marketing. Staff wear uniforms and are trained with the same retailing skills including buying, sales and service and merchandising

Franchisees are supported with national advertising and marketing programs to drive retail traffic and increase the value of the Cash Converters brand.

All stores are computerised with specialist software to handle everything from stock control to administration and accounts. The system provides you with valuable management reports, which enable you to evaluate your business at the touch of a button.

We also boast our own 'Intranet' system, which is our main communication tool. This keeps everybody up-to-date with new products, marketing initiatives, ordering information, and more.
